Really, when you think about it, both producers kinda of have the same paths. Both had mentors while coming up "Alchemist had DJ Muggs and West had No I.D.", they are combo artists with West clearly being better lyrically, and fukk it... they both are dope as fukk. They both can adjust their beats to certain artists to fit their styles and they both were born in 1977 and been in the scene around the same time with West selling much more.

let me set it off

2000- Alchemist "The Alchemist beats on The Platform were crazy"
2001- West "Takeover and Heart of the city"
2002- i can not decide... i might go with West because Poppin' Tags, Good To You, Get By, and his beats on The Fix. I can't choose
2003- West "STAND UP!!!!"
2004- Lil Jon... nah just playing. Kanye West dude was on a tear that year
2005- Kanye West by far. Be AND Late Registration were classics
2006- Neither did much but i might go with Mr.West because of The Cool, Let there be light, Still Dreaming, and that Everything I am song.
2007- This is tough but my vote goes to Alchemist. Finding Forever and Graduation were no where near Be and LR. The beats in Return of the Mac was fukking SICK!!! and plus alchemist did some sick ass beats on The Weatherman LP
2008- Alchemist takes this. Dirty New Yorker was the anthem that summer to me "Thanx to GTA 4 of course". All the beats Alchemist laid out on HNIC 2 were fukking nasty. To Be Determined was nice too
2009- Alchemist by far. Surgical Gloves? Microphone? and that Fashawn mixtape? AND Chemical Warfare where Alchemist showing his versatility? EASY PICK!
2010- Mr.West. not a tough choice at all
2011- Covert Coup aka Alchemist. I dont even like Curren$y like that but that one of my favorite albums of 2011 because of the beats. Cats and Dogs had some sick as ALC beats too
2012- meh... so far Alchemist Russian Roulette will be hard to top.... Mr.West.

Kanye has banged out some hot beats over the years but I'm going with Alchemist. One of the best producers in hip hop history and schooled by one of the greatest too.

Muggs has some classic sh!t out there. The Temples Of Boom album alone puts him in legend status. I heard Alchemist put work into that album as well so he gets more points IMO.

Temples of Boom and IV are the Cypress Hill albums that i played the most. Not saying that their debut and Black Sunday were bad but i just love the vibes that each of those other 2 albums had on some dark hot grimy shyt.

Yeah, I'm the same. The 1st two albums were classics but they sound a little dated now a days.

Temples Of Boom will never sound dated IMO. That's their best album and its a top 5 hip hop album ever to me. Specially if ur a stoner, u get high and listen to that sh!t, ur in another galaxy.

And IV was a great album as well. It was actually the 1st Cypress Hill album I ever copped and still love it to this day.

ALC all day, even his pre-2000 work was better than Ye's. Only dope beat Ye had pre-00 was "The Truth".

:russ:@him making "Hot Spot" and the Harlem World(group) album:snoop:. Gotta start somewhere, I guess :manny:
