I'm still kind of shocked that Kanye has gone in on Talib like he has. Talib was one the first rappers to really respect Kanye as an emcee and believe in him. Kweli brought Kanye on tour with him as the opening act after he dropped the Quality album in 2002. Talib behind the scenes helped convince a lot of their peers at the time that Kanye should be taken seriously as a full fledged artist and not just as a producer.I'm sorry kweli, but i never fukked with your raps...

I get that Kanye is probably annoyed at Talib going at him over political reasons, but I was around back then, and Talib was truly one of the first cats Kanye looked up to that truly believed in his vision.
I'm not saying Kanye owes him anything, but it's just been surprising that he's gone at Talib the way he has.

Can you imagine if Andrew Gilliam actually got elected governor? Where did he come from? Lori Lightfoot? These news blacks would rather champion a black person who has no history with us that came from nowhere, and as long as they say some surface level symbolic “black” shyt, they get behind them. Way too many black people are guided by emotion, and the white people who appoint these people know this. They do this to maintain the status quo.
