I haven’t listened to anything of his since The Life of Pablo (which I really loved parts of). The impression I got from every release since then was that it was “different”/experimental to the point of being like half-baked. Maybe it was because the lack of fanfare surrounding them or what but I haven’t checked them out. What are casual fans opinions of them?

What I get so far is TLOP/JIK/808's/WTT mixed with MDTF sonically but on the next level that's what I'm hearing so far. But everyone saying Ye is back on his shyt and it's an incoming classic.
So like you I'm waiting for it to drop to sit, listen and study the album

I'll always check for Ye off the strength of the first half of his career. I thought both Ye and JIK were mid, Pablo had some joints.
Hopefully he's back in his bag but his recent features and beats don't have me excited.
