The Republican party and the conservative movement has quickly become a bandwagon of America's biggest narcissists, bullies and idiots. By 2024 we gonna have an entire roster of incoherent, street corner talking, unwinnable cartoon characters on one side, babbling a load of whacked out conspiracies about gays, blacks, immigrants, Jews, Democrats and liberals that can only come from the minds of paranoid bigots and aspiring fascists, and will turn more than half the country away.
I think it's slowly dawning on the Republican Party, and even Republican voters that their party and their movement has been co-opted and destroyed by self interested grifters who don't truly give a fukk about the party, America, government or anyone besides themselves and their publicity.
I think Republicans are realizing now that the hard right, openly racist ideology they ginned up when Obama got elected, and fully embraced when Trump announced his run is in fact not patriotic or morally righteous, but so shallow, simple minded, and out of touch with facts and reality that literally any jackass who claims to be a "free thinker" who "wont be silenced" can now proclaim to be a "conservative," jump on board the wrong side of history to freely express their hatred, run for office with a rabid base that "blindly votes" conservative, and even make a good grift G'ing these rednecks for massive donations. I mean, Look at the amount of idiots right here on the coli who so badly want black people to be seen as "socially onservative" rather than a socially liberal people only because it's the most poetic way they can articulate their grade school fear of gay and lesbian people as adults.
All those years of mocking Democrats as being the party of pompous loud mouthed celebrities and here they are with Donald Trump and Kanye fukkin West as the only contenders for 2024 thus far besides some jackass whos only accomplishment with his constituents is becoming an anti-vax rock star and "taking on Disney" for committing to diversity. No wonder they got blown out by voters on election day. No one other than other psychopaths can relate to this GOP.
I think it's a matter of time before the rank and file leadership of the party realize they cant trust these angry white folks they've been capitalizing off of since the 60s to choose competent, respectable leaders if some celebrity or talk radio grifter with no appeal to wing voters, is also running and waving that carrot of "own the libs, racism is free speech" in their faces. They cant resist. Ever since Sarah Palin "conservatives" have been nothing but eager to see the country ran by a complete dumbass who represents their intellect and values.
I honestly expect in the next year we are going to see a huge campaign and push amongst the party to denounce racist or conspiracy rhetoric, and begin outright rejecting Donald Trump and other like-figures who have exploited their party. Their voters, and their ideology.

I still worry that the racist ideology is spreading, or becoming mainstream, but yeah I think the Cons just look dumb for letting extremists hijack the party and have to figure something else out. DeSantis is a POS too, hes barely any different, just presents himself slightly more professional.

Yup, just slightly. Dude is still another Donald Trump psychophant MAGA Republican elected to Florida during the height Donald Trumps influence within the party. His only appeal as aa politician is to Fox News watching MAGA hard right wingers who enjoy his useless "own the libs" stunts and his "stop woke" "liberals indoctrinating our children" modern George Wallace rhetoric. He has no accomplishments that speaks to serving or helping people. Biden has a ton already. Hes food on a national stage where everybody, not just redneck white nationalists in Florida, must be reached out to.

Can you imagine the inevitable ads coming from both the Trump campaign AND Democrats reminding voters of DeSantis sucking Trumps dikk and following his every word if he tries to make some strategic heel turn to becoming a moderate Republican?
Banning "wokeism" in school, attacking Disney for committing to gay representation, condemning Covid guidelines, and "defending Trump" is not gonna work in 2024.
