Can’t talk to broke boys
nikka in the red was definitely hoping for a handshake/hug and smoothly turned it into a fist pump
man, what a feeling that must have been for Virgil today. crazy.
the set design, having BadBadNotGood play the music live etc...it looked great.
would like to have went but i only get to do the NY fashion week, the one that nobody really wants to show at now.
Virgil doing live DJ sets out of the Louis Vuitton office >>>>
He didn't hold him back. What Drake was talking about made no sense. Kanye was probably a bit jealous and upset that LV instead of working with him poached his talent but he never held Virgil or anyone back. Can someone breakdown how Kanye held Virgil back all those years?
U fukking son of a bytch. I was just speeding over here to make this thread.
Here’s a close up.better view. fukk op.
ye changed that man's lifeHe didn't hold him back. What Drake was talking about made no sense. Kanye was probably a bit jealous and upset that LV instead of working with him poached his talent but he never held Virgil or anyone back.
He started Off-White, which became the biggest name in designer street wear. Also, last year his Off-White/Nike collab completely reversed the Adidas/Yeezy tide for Nike and became THE must-have sneakers for hypebeasts going for the highest resell value and selling out instantly.I hear you how did he get the gig? I know he was boys with Kanye and shyt I remember that goofy pic in europe with them all wearing outlandish shyt but anyway good for him that video looked melodramatic though at least on Ye's part
He didn't. Virgil is pretty much Kanye's biggest apprentice success story, moreso than Cudi or Sean. They both interned at Fendi together, after that Kanye made him the creative director of DONDA, and in that role he headed up the design elements for everything regarding the Watch The Throne album/tour.Can someone breakdown how Kanye held Virgil back all those years?
He's the only one. Only other blacks I can think of are Ozwald Boateng and Olivier Rousteing and they're both EuropeanHe's the creative director of LV menswear.
It's big not only for him as an American (American designers don't really get love like that with the Euro fashion houses), let alone an African-American at that.

c00ns crying for that cac co-sign in the fashion industry

This is a half truth. If Alexandre Arnault didn't suggest Vrigil to his old man...Virgil wouldn't be working at LV. It's as simple as that.He had a string of really successful collaborations as well as his own successful line w/ Off-White.
Vogue did a write-up on his story. A Brief History of Virgil Abloh’s Meteoric Rise
From LV's perspective, they kinda needed him. While they've always run things in terms of bags and accessories, their actual clothing/ready-to-wear has never been all that popular.
Culturally, Gucci and Balenciaga have been way more relevant and trendsetting.
After they all the success LV had with the Supreme collab, they knew bringing in Virgil's streetwear sensibilities were desperately needed from a business perspective.
