adidas did Ye dirty though.

He's an idiot. But he kept the lights on there forever. Nobody cared about that brand until he showed up. They know that. That's why they're trying to get off all those YZY leftovers. After that's done, they don’t have anything else to push that people will give a f*ck about.

The brand is 100 years old. Did Kanye help them recently with their popularity, yes for sure. But they are going to be ok in the long run. Second largest sporting brand in the world and a value of 15 Billion.

I agree with him :yeshrug:

Adidas is kind of irrelevant, pre and post yeezy. I’m mostly speaking in the name of fast-fashion and street wear not sportswear. The market speaks for itself

i don’t really care how crazy or c00n’d out kanye became, the fact is he made Adidas a lot of money and “cool” again, and it’s gonna be a struggle for them to find something else hot especially when other similar brands are also cold right now.

Sambas are hot right now amongst the kids (the Wales Bonner collab is actually the last decent thing I’ve seen from them in a long while). But he’s 100% right about Jerry’s run there being very very mid.

Funniest thing about this to me is how he essentially circled-back to taking Sway’s initial advice from the start.

They were struggling before Ye showed up.

Nike's been kicking adidas' ass for years. They literally credited him with bringing the brand back to life. Which is exactly what he did. They couldn't sell sh*t away from the Heritage side of the building before he got there. Their valuation went crazy after he got there. I worked for adidas for a couple of years in corporate as a PM. They were broke as a f*cking joke. No bread for campaigns, people leaving due to low salaries, etc. They couldn't compete with the other brands.

When Ye got there, they're magically renovating the offices, the teams are being paid much more than ever before, athletes are interested in doing deals again, the whole sh*t. They owe that dude way more respect for making them relevant again.
