It's totally understandable why Kendrick & Kanye reviews get millions of views, they're artists who take risks and no project sounds the same. Each sounds different from their last. There's a lot to digest, decipher and analyze. Drake just makes hits, theres nothing to look deeper into. Cole tries to be artistic but it's bland usually.

I appreciate your response because you're not shytposting. I think you make a fair point, but when you think about it, it doesn't really matter.

Kendrick is obviously trying to be the new Kanye in the sense of doing different sounds every album. This way, he always feels fresh to his fans. Which is why to Kanye stans, they think he has 4-5 classics. When to everyone else, Kanye has zero classics and is somewhere in the woat discog category.

Changing up your sound every album is a gimmick. Just as sticking to the same exact sound and repeating it mindlessly is a gimmick (e.g. Future). One could argue that changing up the sound every album is a way of showing how gimmick you are and how none of those sounds mean anything to you at its core - it's just a new outfit to be worn and disposed. Changing up sound also keeps you from challenging yourself to build even further on your sound and keep it fresh/interesting.

So it's not about what you do, but how you do it.

is this a diss or not, cuz you wear your WOAT title like its the technicolor dreamcoat

so by you saying kanye has a discog in the woat of all time category, do you mean that hes actually one of the greatest?

cute low-IQ comment :obama:

Mind of a rosenberg: Interscope plasters the internet with Kendrick and paid posters roam all forums rambling about Duck constantly. One person who happens to give his honest opinion on the fraud and it's 'he on your mind'.

I'll tell you this much: I'm way more on the mind of rosenbergs than the other way round. The evidence is literally the post beneath yours. :salute:

LMAO. Geek dedication :wow: Keep em coming :banderas:

In no time, I'll be the only thing y'all reference :damn:

Are there any confirmed paid posters?

are you sure breh? That can't possibly be the best you can come up with
Changing up your sound to sound like every wave or popular new artist could be seen as a gimmick but that's about it.

Sustaining your own style wouldn't be a gimmick at all except if your style has a gimmick within itself.

nah there's more to it. Every subgenre of rap, from hits-driven to alternative, conscious to gangsta has its cliches and gimmicks. And they're all equally the same in shyttiness and shallowness.

yeah but changing your style in itself does not automatically = gimmick

if its an organic style change, and it works, then word up.

but if its clearly a forced style change to stay relevant or cater to whats hot, then yeah, its no good.

there are plenty of rappers who stay in their lane stylistically, because its what they like best/are most comfortable with, and feel most inspired by. i wouldnt stay staying in your lane is a gimmick, especially if you continue to release quality music.

it all comes down to intent

i dont know kendricks intent with the style change in this album, but it also doesnt seem like a huge style shift that i would classify as a gimmick.

if anything it seems like a continuation of what he's been doing

at its core, its still kendrick bringing the same content he has been
