I actually thought she struggled during her Maddow interview. She came across as a politician who was attempting to impress. It could have been nervousness maybe?
Listening to the interview and hearing Harris suggest something to the effect of "Trump should put all of the government workers with mortgages in the Trump Tower since there are plenty of vacancies" just kinda fell flat. Seemed like she was pandering or trying too hard. I expected something more stoic and measured given her powerful portrayals in public Senate hearings. Maybe that is her campaign trying to make her 'likeable' and 'personable'? Also, the scandal regarding her prosecutors and the dirty CSI technician didn't sound great either. Maddow luckily threw her a softball about the death penalty to bail her out.
Overall, a lot of far-left people have been beating her up over her past but so far I don't see it as a detraction from her as a Democratic candidate.
In my limited reading, it sounded like she was too progressive at first and so when her reelection came up, the police union gave millions to her opponent, so she overcorrected a bit to assuage the police and now she is being judged for that. From what I've read so far, her stances are more progressive than most so I think we'd be in good hands if she's elected. I still need to dig into more candidates to see who I am most interested in.
