Things are better for AFAM now then 50 years ago. I'll agree about the difficulties which anyone outside looking in can never understand.
You have more allies now
For better or worse, the "others" are more evolved...at least some are.
We have more success in the economic front than 50 years ago.
Our women dominate educational improvement.
We just need to increase it constantly over each generation

I just do not have faith in the idea that true equality will ever be achievable in America.
Certain people will rather burn the country down before that.
Trump is an example of that sentiment.
He won for a lot of reasons. One of the reasons is because a bunch of people were ANGRY Obama got the top job. Trump is at least in part nothing but America's reaction to Obama. That's the battle your facing. People would rather a lunatic like Trump be in office. Its ludicrously irresponsible but they did it because that is what America is. Its not even worth fighting for to me. Thats why i said fukk you uncle sam, fukk your green card, fukk what you stand for. Im going back to Nigeria. Its a much much better existence. I cant even imagine raising my daughter in America. No thanks. Im not trying to offend but thats just how i felt after a 10 year bid in Florida, Georgia and Cali. The entire culture is toxic. The coolest thing to me about America is the melting pot aspect of meeting people from all over the world. That is so very beautiful and powerful but its rigged so that certain people MUST be on top, and they will tear down any other subgroup that dosent assimilate or exist in the way they feel they are supposed to.
