Listened to Languish Arts last night. The addition of guitar samples was certainly a surprise. I like the album overall and while Ka will always hit you in the chest with something lyrically, his style doesn't land as well as it once did IMO. So many projects that virtually sound the same flow and rhyme pattern wise. Looking forward to listening to the second disc this weekend regardless.

I don't know man, Descendants of Cain is arguably his 2nd best album, behind Honor Killed The Samurai...

Im a heavy KA fan. Buy all
His joints that are worthwhile, to me at least.

But yes. The production can be very taxing and monotonous. Almost like its on purpose.

Like not only are his lyrics are heavy but to then get past an annoying flute note that extends a whole song or a obscure horn loop, can be a bit much to tolerate

His pen game never disappoints. And i dont mind the repetitive flow/cadence.

This was my complaint with him as far back as the Samurai album in 2016. Grief Pedigree had flavor to it. The songs didn't really blend into one another. My issue with him since is that he's found a comfort zone and does not experiment at all. Nothing related to his lyricism can be knocked but each album should have it's own sound and identify. Has had a handful of great songs over the years but needs to diversify more.

Sorry for where I pushed, you was in the way
I'm just trying to formulate before I'm shaped back into clay
Always into drama, had to use sagacity
Lost confidence was consequence of seeing everybody passing me
Had loyals four, my memorial wall was filled to capacity
Not how I wanted it but, I guess it's how it had to be
(How it had to be. Rest in peace man, I love all y'all)
Some like how I talk, but I'm a better listener
I live in these bars, might be hard to find a better prisoner

Forgive Me might be song of the year....

My boy was supposed to be a star, got shot
One missed his opportunity, got knocked
Another touched his first money roll and got rocked
A brother finally taking care of his moms and got popped
....that's the block

I was focusing on the emotional weight the first time someone posted this, but now, I see what he's doing: shooting stars, opportunity knocks, rock and roll, moms and pops. Ka's wordplay still crazy.

I feel like I gotta apologize to Ka for initially peeping. I told myself I'm not ready for this heavy shyt right now when they first came out and now I'm peeping and I immediately go into stan mode. Incredible. I hardly ever have reactions to bars like how people react to battle rap bars but he might be one of the very few rappers to make me react like that.
