I wanna bump all the threads where I said Maclin would be a good replacement for Desean and nikkas tried to get at me....any half decent WR will eat good in this system. We just need to throw Klansman Cooper in the bushes for someone who can actually catch.

same here breh. I got clowned before the season when I said that a *healthy Maclin is better than DeSean in this system :stopitslime: Sure, Maclin isn't the deep threat that DeSean is, but I would rather have longer drives that keep the defense off the field as long as possible.
:what: :dahell: Maclin is a good receiver with good hands, nobody is disputing that. But healthy Maclin is not better than Desean in this(or any) system :comeon:. shyt this system needs a "deasean".

See now yall are taking my posts the wrong way. Nowhere did I say hes better than Desean in any shape or form. I have a Desean jersey hanging in my closet was sad as anyone to see him go. My only point was that switch out Desean with Maclin and the offense doesnt lose a LOT. So far its proven to be true. Obviously having BOTH would be far superior but I wasnt taking it as the world is ending because Desean's gone simply because of how this system works

Maclin came up with a great 3rd down catch to continue our last td drive, where was desean Jackson on that last drive for Redskins when they needed him?
Hell if foles wasn't so off target his first couple of games Maclin would have well over 400 yards and atleast 5 tds so far this year dude...

Come on, You know he has to be politically correct now a days. He said he cut Desean as a football decison. I have never seen a coach say he didn't like the player therefore he cut him. Even with Terrell Owens, You never heard Andy Reid tell the real reason why he deactivated and then cut him (other than conduct detrimental to the team).

1. Desean was cut primarily based on his contract (it didn't help that he complained for a new contract after the saints playoff loss), he was due to make 10 million as an Eagle. So this off season, they are free 10 million dollars to spend in free agency. Dez and/or Demaryius could be free agents. I think if they are, With Jeremy Maclin's 5 million dollars off the books as well, Chip will throw the bank at one of them if they fall into free agency.

2. Also Chip probably thinking long term, does not think that Desean can sustain himself for that long injury wise in the offense he is trying to run. Sure he is a home run threat but If you watched the offense they are a run heavy, hybrid west coast spread offense in hyper drive that occasionally will throw it deep and often throw screen plays. This offense needs big strong wideouts who will consistently make the tough catches and get seperation. There are times that Desean due to his size disappears in games.Better off cutting ties with him now when the going is good.

3. Also the Draft is deep at wideout again headlined by the 6 foot 6 Dorial Green-Beckham who could fall in the draft due to character issues a la Randy Moss, There is also Amari Cooper, Nelson Agholor and Rashad Green :banderas:.

It was a calculated football move. Pretty sure Howie Rosemond and Chip discussed it extensively

Not saying Chip loved the guy but he didn't cut based purely on hating him, he was scheming.
Gang Connections was media created, you never heard Chip say that or Howie say it. They even said that is not the reason they cut him. Media really blew it out of proportion in my opinion. :manny:

I am just mad they couldn't pull off trade to get that lil nikka far away from the nfc east. I would have taken a seventh rounder just to keep him away from the cowboys giants or redskins. :birdman:

You make alot of good points except I dont think throwing money at free agents if something Chip or Jewie Rosemond wants any part of. When we got on some, lets throw money at FA- that was an Andy Reid call- once they jettisoned Jew Banner, Reid treated Free agency like a buffet table. I gather Chip would rather build through the draft and spend money on free agents to upgrade special teams an backups at key positions. I dont see Thomas or Dez coming here unless its for a team friendly deal and the FO doesnt see this disrupting the happy college atmosphere Chip is tryna build

If anything I think they will spend to solidify that defense (a true starting 3-4 ROLB or starting outside Cornerback) at least. He did spend big money in free agency the first and second year on defense (e.g. Connor Barwin, Cary Williams, Patrick Chung, Kenny Phillips, Bradley Fletcher, and Malcolm Jenkins)

Not likely that Dez or Demaryius fall into free agency especially Dez. But if the Eagles have the money, I can not see them ignoring such talent.
