It seems like alot of aspring artists cannot grasp the notion of PROMOTIONAL USUAGE for the sake of building a buzz....
they fail to understand that the best way to build a buzz is thru Free Promotion...
and now they silly cause they just fukked themselves out of a possible CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT cause they want HIM to pay!!
reminds me of when i use to manage a deejay at a popular nightclub back in the 90's...
he got approached by a two artists from a group that was building a lil buzz for themselves on the streets ....
my deejay welcomed them with open arms into the deejay booth ...but things went bad ...real quick
because these dumbazzes insisted my DEEJAY cough up 8$ to cop thier CD to play during his set
i gave them the
look cause i was already halfway drunk that night...and couldn't believe what the fukk i was just hearing...
like who the hell tells a DEEJAY to buy his shyt so that he can PLAY AND PROMOTE thier music
especially a popular deejay plugged in with the local radio station at that!
then i just bust out laughing cause my deejay had them escorted from the booth and they NEVER got thier shyt played and even worst never was able to get on like they wanted to ...but that's what happens as Juvy say when you "hustle backwards"
and it's STILL HAPPENING TO THIS DAY ...you would think with all the INFO AVAILABLE about how to properly conduct business within the field of music....these CATS would do better...but they are not..
i remember just a few years ago when i had my radio show and im walking thru the mall with my son..and this cat approaches me with the
"hey cuz ...how bout supporting local music and get this CD from me"
i responded..hey im all about supporting local music then went on to tell him how i promote alot of artists on my station."
he was like "oh that's whussup!"
so when i reached out to get the CD from him...
he pulled his hand back and responded..you got 5 on ya breh??
or at least a donation?
i told him the same thing JUVY said.."you going about this wrong mane.....you can't build a buzz by having retail sales of your work that nobody is aware of....you gotta do some free promotional stuff at least..nahmean?

there was no need in explaining myself to a man who didn't understand how to develop a proper business model
Plus i wasn't gonna waste my time trying to critique or offer some advice because cats like him will take it as "YOU'RE HATING".....
