This strikes me as such a worthless take. She’s been nominated to the SC. She will be confirmed to the SC. The hearing antics of republicans may rile up hardcore democrats who are watching the hearings (IE a small minority of people) but they largely don’t matter.

The goal is to get the seat. She’s going to get the seat. I see no value in Booker’s corny performance outside of for people who sit around watching MSNBC all day.

Nor is that the lesson of Jan 6th. Those lies were attacked quite vigorously. Multiple social media sites and youtube don't even allow people to spread many of the worst lies about the election. And yet it persists. I'm really tired of this framing in which the existence of bad things means xyz didn't try hard enough to stop it. It's bullshyt logic especially when it involves what people think about political topics. Our politics is completely tribal. Hand wringing because 30-35% of the country believes Biden stole the election and Clinton killed Epstein is not worth my time.

Her argument makes no sense, and is largely based on a fallacy that democrats always need to explain something harder in order for everything to be alright. It’s never been true. And given that this hearing is largely payback for Kavanaugh - a circus hearing in which he was accused of rape without merit/evidence - I don’t find this surprising. The defense has been fine, but defense is never going to match offense when it comes to generating headlines.

Worse yet when the fact check boils down to “well yea judges suck when it comes to sentencing sometimes, but it was Republican judges too.”
