Unpopular opinion, but I actually liked certain parts of X-3 and Apocalypse. I realize that I'm in the minority on that, but it is what it is.

If they would have left out the Dark Phoenix saga, it would have been much better.

Yeah, there were too many pots in the kitchen. Singer left to go direct a boring Superman movie, Matthew Vaughn came in and added a few things before getting frustrated and leaving, and we ended up with Brett Ratner. Plus Halle Berry was threatening to walk if Storm didn't get a bigger role and Cyclops's role got pushed to a few scenes because he was going to go work on Superman Returns.
Lots and lots of fukkery.
I did like Kelsey Grammar as Beast (I was just happy to see one of my favorite X-Men in a film finally), a more expanded role for Kitty Pryde, and the cure being a focal point of the film.
