Movie was okay... i thought it followed the book pretty straight on.

The books as a series are pretty good though, i dont know what to think about the last one though, it felt kinda forced....

I still haven't finished the entire movie

I had to turn it off during the cave scene when they were snuggled up. I couldn't take that shyt. I was pretty appalled that they flipped the script on me like that. Its weird but I think the movie was GREAT up until they actually get to the battle field. That should be the part where it turns up, but I enjoyed the other shyt more for whatever reason.

Yea.....they could've devoted another 10 or 15 minutes to Rue. I wont lie though. I felt warm & tingly inside after Rue died & District 11 saluted her :to:

Maybe I need to read it again. Could've swore Rue got a whole chapter. That's atleast 30 pages, only to get 3 scenes in the movie :ld:

Two things about that.

1. One chapter in a book would translate a mere few minutes on-screen.
2. Even if she did get a whole chapter, it had more to do with Katniss thoughts about her and comparing her to Prim than it did with having Rue doing a lot or saying much. Rue gets mentioned quite a bit in the first two books in Katniss' thoughts more than anything. From what events and dialogue that Rue personally did in the books made it on screen for the most part. Actually, I think one scene happened with her in the movie that wasn't really even described as much in the books was Rue's brief interview scene.

I just re-watched the movie two nights ago and I believe Rue got at least five scenes and also, I don't think many chapters in the book were 30 pages long.

You right, it just seems like she was better developed in the book. I know its supposed to be that way though. Its alot different reading a book for a few days vs. watching a film in 2hrs.

Yeah, maybe. But that's also cuz in a book, a character has it be described in depth to get a feel for how they look and how they think/act/etc., to which that could take many pages to do. But a picture is worth a 1000 words. They girl they chose to play Rue (Amandla Sternberg) looks almost word for word how the book described her as, and it only took 1-shot of her to see that.
