this movie was about walking and i didn't walk out :wow:

on the real it was a very good movie...maybe reese first movie that wasn't a comedy? she hikes from the mexcian border all the way to portland on a PCT trail (i looked it up and cacs really do this)....takes 3 months and she does it alone and meets random people along the way.

reese witherspoon gets naked and shows her boobs in this movie. she gets ate out by some dude and gets her back blown out :takedat: guess she's trying to get that oscar

I really enjoyed this. Reese Witherspoon plays a woman named Cheryl, who decides to walk over 500 miles in order to prove to herself she can, and also to purge some demons she's been holding onto. The plot sounds very simplistic and perhaps boring, but it isn't. It's more than just a woman hiking. The audience gets to know Cheryl very intimately through through a series of flashbacks that are strategically intermingled with Witherspoon's struggles, triumphs, and reflections on the trail. Still sound boring? Probably. But the director Jean-Marc Vallee and Witherspoon pulled off something really special here. They managed to make Cheryl's long ass hike into a compelling and emotional psychological journey to self-acceptance and letting go of the past. I've never seen Witherspoon this raw. She completely emerges herself into the character, and makes you feel the pain of her loss. The director didn't overdue the flashbacks and they blend seamlessly into Cheryl's journey that you swear you're in her head. By the end, you want her to be all right, and finish the physical and psychological journey because you're invested in her.

I give it a 4 out of 5 because towards the end it did feel a little long. But other than that, this is a really great film.
