As a collector of Catier glasses, I have been eyeing a Tank or a Santos to match. Suggestions, or things to look for from Cartier for a watch novice?

Been out the watch game for a minute but I liked it when I saw it...I definitely need to learn more about watches

Things to look for are size and type of movement.

You always want to try on a watch and see how it fits on your wrist, pictures can be deceiving. And then as far as the movements go, your choice is mechanical vs quartz (battery). Quartz will be cheaper but not have the same value retention or 'respect' as a mechanical watch.

Also since it's your first watch I would go with a classic Santos or Tank look, but they announced some heat this month:

But you're better off going with a classic steel look, that you can wear everyday.

When did you get the DateJust?!

Edit* just seen on the prior page. Congrats!

Im looking at what’s next and I’m not really a huge fan of much more in the Rolex catalogue and thinking of a Cartier Santos.

But I got a son on the way and just bought a car. Man’s bank account is almost on fumes :wow:

just seeing this reply...thanks. I was thinking the same thing. I have about 8 pair of Cartier glasses and all but 2 are gold or at least have prominent gold accents (the other two are platinum). A gold Tank or Santos seems to make the most sense

Right now I rotate these two (unless i'm wearing my grandfather's Hamilton retirement watch from US Steel) to honestly to make it clear I'm not perpetrating a fraud...

I've been waiting for the gold one to go down. prices are bullshyt rn. $50 is too damn high.

I rock the silver one all the time. I rotate that one with a regular black one. I love casios. very practical
