I wish this was on purpose though. I wouldn't be salty if it was a character flaw and not a botched writing decision. They made it clear with other characters siding with her that she was supposed to be in the right. I really suspect they felt she was acting with agency and being powerful in that moment here she is turning down the superhero who lied to her and underestimated her guarantee that was their line of thinking instead of how it would play to people watching the show. People either liked her or were indifferent until that scene.Amber is simply a bytch and Mark doesn't have the experience to know how or understand how trifling she is. Nothing particularly 'compelling' about it.

Nah, I think its just a good layout of how people are and selfish they can be no matter how big or small an issue is.... That's why controlling a$$holes try to manipulate and isolate people in relationships.
shytty people surround themselves with other shytty people. And when they find a good person, by accident/circumstance/whatever, they bring them into their bullshyt instead of stepping out of it and into that good person's environment.
She is actually on point as a bad person who doesn't believe she's a bad person. Holding some homeless meals over a person's head who's out getting beat half to death on a regular basis? shyt, she's right there with all the people who guilt trip their partners for not caring about their goals while said partner is out working two jobs to keep the lights on. She's just textbook trifling. Even without the costume related stuff, she just wants Mark to play a part. Mark just happy someone likes him. Amber wants a gump.
And they actually establish the context deliberate and early on with how Mark's mom is holding shyt down for Omniman because she understands not just the package that comes with the superhero, but how she has to share him with everyone else. Amber a clear 180.
I think its just important to say that some people ain't shyt. Amber is a well done ain't shyt girlfriend
