Congratulations Black man!!!!!
Hard Work Pays Off.
In the big leagues now breh!!
Any brehs @ the company or is it all white boys and asians, and 1 latino dude?
How’d you end up landing the job, and what’s the role?
There's quite a few Black artists working for DC. Not nearly enough though, IMO.
Good job man and congrats!
What position are you doing and how’d you get hired?
Inking? Pencilling? Coloring? WTF is your job description/title?
Congrats!
Working as an apprentice led to this opportunity. I primarily work as an inker.
It's definitely who you know in this industry.
I bet he’s a damn tracer
I bet I'll run that fade
Inkers still have to be able to draw well.
use to draw when i was kid and studied computer graphics,,,, had to switch to IT for money tho
,,,,, ENJOY BREH
I still work in IT.
Comics doesn't pay nearly enough to match my current salary/benefits.
I respectfully disagree. (though I agree that there are still some racial barriers in comics.)
Doing mainstream comics is only a bad move if your goal is just to do mainstream comics. (Mine isn't.) The goal is to use it as a springboard towards creating/controlling your own sh*t. Some of the most successful indie creators created a following with their mainstream work and then branched out. Trust me, industry professionals talk to you different when they realize you work/have worked for the Big Two.
Also, there's plenty of talented artists who do/have done work for the Big Two. Olivier Coipel, Khary Randolph, Jamal Igle, Georges Jeaunty, Uko Smith, N. Steven Harris, Ken Lashley, Alitha E. Martinez, Afua Richardson, Ashley Woods, and many, many more. All brehs/brehettes. If you're not seeing talent, you're either not looking, or not being honest.
