I'm slowly coming around to the V6 because nowadays they still coming with over 300 horses but the reason I'm so anti is because muscle cars have ALWAYS been about muscle. American muscle is and always will be considered to be a strong ass V8 in either a GM, Ford, or Chrysler. Dodge started dropping V10s in they Vipers which are cool and respected because they have the potential to be even more powerful than a V8 but when a Corvette can keep up with your $150,000 viper it really makes you feel cheated considering how much less you can get a Z06 for.
Anyways, I digress. To answer your question I only feel the way I feel because I'm a true car enthusiast. V6's cannot produce the same amount of power as a V8 unless turbocharged. And until recently (last 10 years) they didn't even bother to turbocharge American 6s until they saw the Japs/Euros turbocharging they bullshyt 4/6 cylinders and getting their Hondas to be comparable in horses to a damn base model mustang
