Oh no its fine. I live in ATL but am from Miami so i rep Dolphins and Heat and cant stand the Falcons. Hawks are okay but im not a fan. So i understand the complexity of living in a city while not supporting its sports teams.
My problem is I know a lot of folks wo are from NY and live in NY and they becomes Knicks fans when the Knicks are winning but as soon as the Knicks start losing they claim CELTICS as if all North Eastern teams are interchangeable.

I've disliked the Knicks for years.
Plus, if you gravitate towards a team as a kid that's not from your hometown and like them as an adult, what's the problem?
Are cats going to go back and debate with a then 10 year old who may have loved the Lakers?

shyt...I'm a bandwagon fan of common sense sports narratives.
I find myself rooting for teams and players who have bullshyt, hate filled and illogical sports narratives tied to them, especially when it comes to the NBA.
Im not even a fan of teams anymore now.

I went to HS in NYC and pretty much every nikka was a fan of any team other than the Knicks (Or the Jets/Giants when they wasn't winning). 
Nikkas was rooting for the Steelers when they played the AFC title game against the Jets.
Bangwagon fans

Every nikka in my HS was fans of elite teams in the NBA & NFL.
