Only those hating haven't seen the movie. Is there some BS, yes. But it was much better than any movie I've watch that's not a doc
not hating. it's ok to enjoy the movie, but i'm not attaching deeper meaning to something written by a white person to the point i'm thinking "we black folks got to do better" based on their words.

Black people also went crazy over a black fictional college tv show on a white owned tv network, that lead to a blast of enrollment in hbcu's because of that fictional show. Due to representation on seeing themselves in a positive light :martin:

Tired of seeing tokenism in movies too. Shyt takes time and I think this movie will set an example that they don’t have to rely on Tyler perry for black money. Hopefully Ryan can bring more people up and inspire more of us.

People don’t understand we still building from the ground up, it takes time, can’t just hop to opening a black studio out of nowhere.

We will get there

No lie though, this shyt is gonna be huge. I had at least 4 people unsolicited tell me to go see BP

yeah "rolling with it" ... or the "at least its something"- that's the exact attitude that gets us nowhere. Police brutality- straight assassination of blacks on the daily.. yeah.. let's roll with it, march/protest and see what happens/ Nothing. Economic resources - let's roll with it and hope change is gonna come - settle for nothing but scraps. Prison population - racist drug laws, corrupt judicial system - lets wait and see if the wave of injustice will finally reform. Rolling with it and waiting.. because that always ends well (*eye roll*)
:stopitslime:

Way to take what I said out of context. But you do you bruh.

Even up here in Vancouver brehs and brehettes and shea butter chicks came wearing African inspired clothes tbh it wasn't too bad. Some black people (I did notice a few whites who were with the shea butter chicks) :mjpls:even did a tribal chant afterwards.

I took my Korean PAAG for the culture exchange :shaq:

(Apparently Lupita's Korean is fairly good, not so much the older asian woman in that scene)
