This was so mid to me. Kinda felt like a Lifetime movie. Messina’s character gotta be one of the WOAT defense attorneys I’ve seen in a movie.

The likelihood of a coroner failing to even consider a hit and run after a look at the victim’s body is slim, and that’s only one of the many things that didn’t make sense here. I get what Clint was going for with the overall message, but this moved a little too ridiculous for me.

Colette was very under utilised

I've seen some documentaries about cases in the U.S where police + prosecution + jury make as dumb or even dumber mistakes than the ones showed in this movie. I'm legit curious why some of you reject the premise of a case being handled as badly as this one just because the prosecution needed it for political gain?

The movie in itself is pretty good but I felt it was too focused on telling us the guy wasn't guilty and that Nicholas Hault did the hit & run. People dismissing that theory or down right now caring about it would've hit much more if we were shown how much of a piece of shyt the accused was as part of that gang and how the politics of Connie Britton's characters played a big part on this as well. A couple of 30 seconds scenes with her campaigning didn't get the job done.

Agreed on the jurors being too much of a caricature. You can tell Clint wanted to say something with as little effort as possible :pachaha:

script was undoubtedly written in like 1989 and they just added a few cell phones to make it modern. it was ok.
