This is a win for Universal but a lose for people who want movies with substance and not fluff...

I mean its released as a summer blockbuster and I think it did a good job as fun theatre experience. No ones going in thinking its going to be the godfather or citizen Kane. There's been plenty of blockbusters released this year that's not as well made.

I'm glad Fast and Furious and Jurassic Park are winning so hard. For a while it looked like comic book movies were gonna be the only big money franchises. I like that more traditional blockbusters are winning again. Even if the movies themselves aren't that imaginative its better than rehashing and rebooting comic book characters every 3 years...

But the movie was clearly pushed into the blockbuster aka transformers category when it really didn't need to be. This movie could of been so much better but instead they followed the transformers formula which will guarantee make them a lot of money with very very little risk but at the cost of substance which is what the original movie had.

It was just disappointing because it felt like the movie took 2 steps backwards as far as story progression and the movie could of easily been a syfy original called "Attack of dinosaur island".

I disagree, the continuity that comic book movies provide is refreshing and getting sequels seems a bit more meaningful knowing that there is more of a story to be told rather than squeezing one out because it made a lot of money.
