The thing articles like these always fail to capture is that a person that is seriously contemplating suicide is not thinking rationally like a mentally healthy person is--they aren't thinking about how selfish suicide may be or how it might hurt others...that is because people who are suicidal ultimately feel very very alone, so in their mind it's like "who'll care if I ain't around anyway?"
