Just used my ethernet cable and can do about 15-20 before it folds up on meMost skips I could get at one time was 15 before the rope hit my ankles. I kept having to restart

I don't get how you can flop unless you're going too fast without a rhythm or you get tired and throw off your rhythm. I would just start slow gradually speed up
