Asians don't get the double lid to look european. They do it because they think it looks aesthetically better. Some asians have a crease, but some don't, and the ones that have a thick single eyelid get the surgery to look better.

Yea I know, I used to think that too until I actually moved to Asia. Having been to China, Korea and Japan, I can honestly say it has nothing to do with white people. They don't even think about white people like that, western media swears. The crease is just seen as an attractive trait and most of their population have it, it's the people that don't that are seen as 'weird'. Heck they were doing modifications in ancient japan before they even knew white people existed, take a look at Geisha make up. Super thick eyeliner to make the eyes look wider. The infatuation may have came after the Mongol conquest. Mongols had the single thick eyelid. You wouldn't want to be associated with the conquerors.
