Both Mr. & Mrs. King are deceased, and there was no quote from anyone who knows them well who can verify that this actually happened. Theres no paperwork showing who paid, theres no quote from staff working at the hospital, nothing from anyone related to the king family. All we have is her word that it happened and surprise that the interviewer knew that. Keep in mind that this is literally an award winning actress. Shes paid millions of dollars a year to make you believe that she's expressing genuine emotions.
If I say that I met Michael Jackson and Tupac while I was in LA in 1994, nobody can verify if that actually happened if both of them are gone. A journalist who would be investigating would find some evidence that this really happened, otherwise it's just me using 2 famous figures for clout.
Responsible journalism means finding records, quotes, etc. To back something up and not just taking someone's word for it.
