I still say that they should have turned it into a storyline into the show on some 3 part episode arc.

Episode 1: Judy gets good grades in school... for once, so Carl decides to take Judy to get some ice cream. On their way to the ice cream shop a low level thug spots Carl and decides to get revenge for Carl arresting his brother and sending him to jail for 20 years. The thug out of nowhere :bustback: but Carl manages to avoid getting shot and shoots the thug wounding him but is still alive to be arrested. Carl turns to Judy and notices a bullet wound in her chest... a stray bullet hit her and she's dead and Carl is all :why::damn::to: To Be Continued....

Episode 2: The family, Urkel and Lt. Murtagh all walk into the living room all wearing black after coming from Judy's funeral. Everyone is broken up from it and Steve tries to cheer everyone up with polka (because its TGIF so they have to have corny jokes in it). Murtagh tells Carl that he will give him all the time off that he wants and needs to grieve for Judy and he leaves. Carl is all :sadbron: while the family and Urkel tries to cheer him up. Carl ain't trying to hear all of that and calls himself a failure of a father and cop. The end of the episode Carl takes his badge and throws it across the room and tells the family he quits the police force and storms out... To Be Continued....

Episode 3: 4 months have past and Carl has been in his garage heavily drinking and grown out a beard looking rough (basically looking a lot like Rick Ross) still feeling fukked up about Judy's death. The family has been trying hard to convince him to rejoin the police force to do some good again but Carl doesn't want to hear about it. Urkel has a idea, him along with Murtagh drag Carl to the prison so Carl can talk (behind bullet proof glass) to the thug that shot and kill Judy. Carl yells and screams at the thug telling him he has day dreams about violently murdering the thug for taking his daughter from him. The thug is all :sadcam: saying that since he's been locked up he became a born again christian and deeply regrets killing Judy and he says that Carl should become a police officer again because Carl is a good man and needs to protect the innocent people from thugs like himself. Carl looks at Murtagh and Urkel like :gucci: and then storms out the room. When they catch up to him Carl tell Murtagh (Give me 2 months to exercise and retrain myself so I can be physical shape again and I'll rejoin the force). 3 months later Carl is back in his uniform being a cop again with his family cheering him on. He looks at Urkel and thank him for not letting him go to the deep end and Carl looks at the family and says "Judy will never be forgotton... she'll always live in our hearts" and the family and Urkel does a group hug while the camera zooms in on a picture of Judy smiling as the credits roll....

they would have to move the show to HBO doing this :russ: way to mature for a "family" show

How about Rachel abandoning her son

This is one of the reasons I could never take this show seriously. Thelma Hopkins (Rachael) was one of the main characters when the show began, only to be written down to random appearances which made no sense. Granted she was doing another series at the time called "Getting By" (which was a better show ,IMO), the randomness of her showing up in 2 or 3 episodes was totally out of place. Even though it's a popular sitcom, I always felt this show was a cluster f*ck. The only thing that made it watchable and memorable were the characters.

they need to re-do family matters and call it "MORE Family Matters" and put it on netflix. I already wrote the synopsis of the show on the fuller house thread. i think it could be a hit
