The only reason this is a thing is because it is a pushback against antiracism, equity, and diversity training and education that popped up after the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Republicans want to present all of that stuff mentioned above as well as teaching the true history of the country (think the backlash against the 1619 Project) as CRT in order to scare whites that their children are being taught anti white education.
The true play is whipping up outrage and channeling that into the 2022 and 2024 elections and getting rid of diversity/inclusion/antiracism/culturally relevant and competent teaching in schools.
