Judge issues subpoena for Trayvon Martin's school and social media records

The judge cited Munoz vs Florida as why she agreed to the subpoena of the records. It is based on a defendant in a self-defense case having the right to use "reputtion evidence" against the victim to try and show that the victim was the aggressor.
The thing I find confusing is why would the reputation of Trayvon Martin matter since he and Zimmerman didn't knwo each other. Zimmerman would have had no way of knowing whether Martin had a penchant for being violent or aggressive since he would not have been privy to any of the evidence that is now going to be allowed in court.

also, the plan could backfire on zimmerman because from the phone call as watch person he was biased, prejudiced and stereotyping...
