Message is on point, 100% get what he is saying and I do think it is over done. Would be nice if everyone wasn't killing everyone with tons of senseless violence in all these songs....

HOWEVER death is very much apart of the journey of life so it's very hard to remove it from art. On top of that, sometimes it really is kill or be killed for some people so when you are talking about killing your enemies, well, sometimes that's the way it goes.
I feel you in that death is a part of life, but c'mon some of these dudes go way over the top with the murder music, which is a problem when it's all about killing other black folks. It's like we're extremely bold when it comes to blasting on each other but are meek as hell when it comes to going at the real enemies.

This is just one example, and I like Fat Trel but how can anyone say that hearing 'shoot that nikka, kill that nikka' over and over isn't harmful to the collective black psyche:

All the enemies just happen to have certain melanin :sas2:

Fair argument. Not even going to try to hit you with some cliche response. I mean arent there gangs that are non-black that 'gangsta rappers' can talk about?

I agree with you. It's definitely over done by too many people. Even the 'its a metaphor' argument is old at this point. . I am just saying it can't be completely removed because death is so much about of human life and in turn art.

Don't think it's a bit too much to ask for them to put a little bit more thought and effort to express the emotions surrounding death, anger, and violence.

"Unless it's them ppl, then you in your right lane."
That line makes me think he talkin about the people who glorify killing when they not really about it (the studio gangstas)? So ppl who really put in the work would have a pass.

If he really talking about no one in the whole rap game not rapping about it. Good luck with that I guess. Doubt it would go as smoothly as he thinks with a social media post.

Does everybody in the North have a "pass" to keep rapping about killing?
Are you white? Dude means THE POLICE "them people"

Not mad at this at all. Rap isn't the cause of racism white supremacy but I think the most damage it has caused is in the perception we have of each other, and ourselves as black people. Music/media is powerful and hearing shoot that nikka repeatedly for years desensitizes you and somewhat teaches you to view other blacks as your enemy.

Everytime there"s a thread about one of these drill rappers being shot down, there"s more "oh well's":yeshrug:and finger pointing at HIM than systemic oppression which intentionally created the environment that breeded his kind. Rap is helping to keep the spotlight AWAY from white supremacy by making us out to be NATURAL thugs, animals and savages.
