Not sure if it's true, but didn't Master P and JT have the same offer from Priority around 1994/95 and P took it and built an empire, while JT didn't like the deal?

I'm sure JT and Quinn have done well for themselves on the independent tip, but it was a little sad to see someone as talented as Quinn mostly just known around the Bay and in select markets, while Silkk "what beat am I rapping to?" Shocker was all over MTV, selling millions of records.

I think they had the same deal but just didn't blow up.

I think like 4-5 albums were released on Priority. My copy of San Quinn's The Hustle Continues was released on Priority.

Quinn shoulda signed with No Limit instead of with Get Low/Priority. "The Hustle Continues" shoulda had a much bigger budget/bigger promotion/ bigger production.

Signing to JT exclusively ultimately stalled Quinn's career from really blowin

Yeah, I believe JT definitely held his career back. Dude has burnt a lot of bridges in the industry too.

At one point I remember when basically every bay album had a San Quinn feature lol

Any particular examples? I don't follow things carefully like I used to in the 90s.

I heard stories about JT being shady in general, which is pretty much what I expect from just about anyone in the industry.

How much did JT receive from all that music he recorded with Game?

At one point I remember when basically every bay album had a San Quinn feature lol

Yeah lol. He wasn't in the Guiness Book of World Records for nothing. And that was almost twenty years ago. He must have been in a ridiculous amount of albums.

I know for sure he fell out with Daz Dillinger, Snoop Dogg, Juvenile, Young Buck, Yukmouth for stealing verses and putting them on his own album. I think with Snoop though it was over that Trapflix thing.

For years he was also putting out the same recycled songs on albums with different names. Even the cd's were CD-R's lol cheap ass fukk!

Don't know how much he made off The Game but I'm sure it was a lot because I remember in the early 2000's a lot of bay albums had Game verses on there. Selling the same verses too lol

Agreed, Quinn was a Beast on the mic. I don't know what actually happened to that Priority Deal but the GLP had a ill ass roster & they stayed dropping that heat.

I don't know why Lil Ric didn't transition with No Limit when they got that Priority Deal. He was one of the illest on No Limit.

Pretty much any rapper could be as big as Silkk was if they were around the right people.

Silkk was decent at one point, but by the time he blew up mainstream, he was awful.

no. you just don't get the appeal. silk was one of the most marketable rappers of his time, and made good ass music.

post me some songs by these guys that would have hit like silk's chit.

better yet, post me something that could've at least been a minor hit on a national scale period.

Doubt it hes in Africa now. Hes been dissing Fillmore on his ig too.
When he move to Africa and what's the reason behind it. From this thread they saying he a bay area legend but i just checked his ig and he's selling verses for $100. I'm not hating, just curious as it doesn't match up with what's been posted up in this thread by MULTIPLE people.
This thread was 3 years old but a legend especially 1 that gets love in the streets and in his community like everyone was saying doesn't just become a nobody after a few years.

He put in a lot of work in getting frisco put on the map back in the 90’s. To bay rap fans he’s a legend, but only for a niche audience of us. He was also more of a producer than rapper and back then, and producers weren’t as big as their artists like they are these days.
