Most of the rap music you hear damn near everybody using now (yg, mustard, Chris brown, tyga, dej loaf, big sean, Drake, I could go on) have all adopted the bay sound that we started in the early 2000s breh.

I do care about preserving is history, but it's futile to think that people not from here will ever see it from our perspective. Our sound has always been very regional and I can see why people don't appreciate it if they didn't grow up with it. Just like anything else, most things won't be accepted by the masses until it's being forced feed down people's throats. That's just one of the side effects of being raised in a culture that values independence over anything else. Our sound has always been very raw, and since artists from here like to do everything themselves to maximize their profits, the sound and image will never get the finesse it needs to go mainstream.

Honestly love the bay and how it moves. We don't want all that attention. That's why most dudes be independent or at least all the respectable ones.
