The rapist and gas chamber parallels he uses to validate his logic is really dishonest. There was nothing nearly as hyperbolic as that being stated in the song. I mean, I never heard the alt right character say, "I want to kill all black people, but i'm not racist". And I guarantee if something was said along those lines, everybody would've dismissed the video outright like he argues. He's also incorrect about the black character not mentioning the legacy of slavery or police bias. Honestly, he really doesn't understand the point behind the song, nor is he knowledgeable about what was actually being said.

Instead of dismissing that white perspective’s stereotypes which he couldve easily done. He made excuses for them and even perpetuated them. He spit the white perspective with far more convicibility and passion as well. “You dont know about fried chicken! You dont know about Barbeques! You dont know about Kool aid! You dont know about the 2 step!..” I think the brother understood the song and the lyrics perfectly fine. Its bullshyt.

The intention of the song was not to dismiss a perspective, I have no idea why people keep stating that. The purpose of the song was obviously meant to explore the idea of communication, specifically how selective perceptions can develop thru a lack of it, hence the phrase"i'm not a racist" being used as a motif and the overall imagery of the video.

The fact that what he thinks was being said was logically equivalent to, "I want to gas the jews, but i'm not a anti-semite" tells me otherwise.

The white dude was saying "I'm not racist" while actually saying a bunch of racist shyt, offensively. The Black dude was saying "I'm not racist" while saying a bunch of non-confrontational shyt, defensively.

the way it's framed with both repeatedly saying "I'm not racist" is that both are racist and both are bad as each other, even though one perspective actually is racist and the other is not.

And to no surprise people in the comments are saying their both as bad as each other. Whether intentional or not Joyner has presented a narrative that Blacks speaking up about their experiences is the same as whites holding racist views towards Blacks

I just don't think a song that validates or appears to validate ANY of the views expressed in the first (and parts of second) verse should be promoted or released in this manner....It's a false equation, you have a victim of racism, and a racist presented as the same thing, or two sides of the same coin, it's insulting, it's dishonest, it's wildly inaccurate, it's a bad song, and I don't think the dude is dope, though he's talented, technically. It's like he learned how to rap from Immortal Technique "Dance With The Devil", for all his "epic" songs.
