I liked Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle :manny:

O'Russell usually delivers very entertaining films. I'm in :manny:

This will get a shyt ton of award season hype, it's the only way it makes any decent money considering it will be out in Christmas.

I liked both movies too but wouldn't say they're that special either.

Ima need yall to stop shytting on J Law when she's actually a great actress :upsetfavre:

She is, but she is also at least 15 years younger than both her love interests in those movies (Cooper and Bale), and the roles she plays do seem intended for slightly older actresses (closer to the age of Cooper).

Silver lining - ok
American hustle - boring/forgettable
Joy - looking and sounding like trash

At what point do ppl admit David o Russell kinda sucks and this Lawrence, Cooper, deniro collab aren't a dream team at all :camby:

I guess nobody bothered to go see it, huh? It was decent. The beginning was all over the place, it seemed like it took forever for the movie to find its way into the story it wanted to tell (the whole development/business shenanigans behind the miracle mop). After things fall into place though it's pretty much on par with Russell's previous two efforts, lots of dysfunctional family comedy drama and another great performance by Lawrence.

Also, between Michael Douglas in Ant-Man and De Niro in this, the ability of Hollywood to make actors look twenty years younger is starting to get more :lupe: by the minute.

I saw it. Couldn't stand it. It didn't seem to know what it was about and what what its aim was or what it was trying to say. J law was awesome but everything around her story wise was meh

Might as well have Brad and Jenni record an EP of Marvin and Tammi covers

I hated the characters, I know there are people that are annoying like that in real life but :damn: the mom, the hating ass bytch sister, the loser ass ex- husband like she couldn't of had a worse team around her... as for the movie it self this seemed to me like the director wrote this with J-Law in mind to make her look like a hero, it was a weak story and her from nothing to something story happened too fast like what made Bradely cooper want to give her a shot? The scene when she froze on the qvc stage just wasn't believable, and the ending happened to fast, and why did they try to make that part about here walking down the street to that meeting seem so important but the never explained the significance of that.. I give it 2 out of 5
