That's just being black american in a nutshell. We're, perhaps to our detriment sometimes, accepting of everybody. You'd be hard pressed to find a american black throwing shade at other blacks for fighting for benefits on their home soil. If Haitians started a movement tomorrow to better Haiti and provide benefits for Haitians only, we'd be ultimately supportive.
If I, as an American, moved to Haiti and spoke ill of their movement, calling it "goofy shyt" I'd be thrown in the bushes and rightfully so.
I've never heard of that origin story. However, I'm going off what the movement is currently -- which is black americans, for the first time in a while pursuing a debt that is owed.
It's wild -- Black Americans having backbone brings indignation and confusion to everyone. It's exhausting.
