How did the media treat those other situations even before the NBA did something official?
Don't think it's much difference between the way the media is handling this vs how they handled Primo situation. They reported it but I'm not expecting it to be a segment on First Take or people on IG to be talking about it. Giddy is a better player but he's not a star and most casuals probably never heard of him. When/If shyt hits the fan I think it will be more of a story

I mean Ime was the HC of a team coming off an NBA Finals appearance. There was no way that the Celtics were going to suspend and people not ask why.

Like I said, the only real comparable situation to this one is what happened with Wander Franco a few months ago, yet not one person has mentioned it in this thread to support their coverage narrative.
While I agree that the best comparison is the Wander Franco situation, but the reaction wasn't the same.

This is the mainstream media response to Franco

So that's ESPN, CBS, FOX and local news on YT just to name a few. Not to mention articles, headlines and other videos on the ESPN site and other outlets. MLB.com covered it and is providing updates.

Meanwhile for Giddey...

That's it. And based off YT the local news in OKC is JUST now mentioning the allegations. We only got one article from ESPN, no mention on the socials, no headlines, no news updates on the ticker, etc. Nothing on the NBA league and OKC team pages.

This is funny because Giddey is the more popular athlete of the 2 (620K followers on IG/Twitter vs. 340K for Franco) playing the more popular sport between the 2 (NBA vs. MLB).

Plus, MLB handled the situation better than the NBA. BEFORE the public knew of the situation, the Rays put Franco on the restrictive list. A week later, the MLB put him on indefinite admin leave when they launched their own investigation. He never saw the field since day one. Meanwhile, the NBA "launched" its investigation on Friday, but yet Giddey is still allowed to play.

Now I agree with the fact that any situation involving a minor is a tricky, but it is the journalistic duty for the NBA and the media to simply bring awareness of the situation and they're dragging their feet. If the MLB was able to react swiftly so why hasn't the NBA?

That’s a question that Silver and the NBA should answer. I mentioned before that they should have pulled them and need an Exempt List like the NFL currently does especially since these new crop of players since them to wildin out here.

I guess the question is going to come down to whether the NFL pulled strings behind the scenes with ESPN to downplay the situation just like they did with Dana White and his.

The fact that someone SAS isn’t even discussing the topic like that with how open he is on his podcast leads me to believe that someone is pulling strings behind the scenes.
