No he was born in Arkansas
Born in Arkansas, but he grew up in MO.

"Hawley was born in Springdale, Arkansas, but soon moved to Lexington, Missouri in 1981 after his father, Ronald Hawley, a banker, joined a division of Boatmen's Bancshares in the city. Hawley's mother, Virginia, was a teacher.

Hawley attended secondary school at Rockhurst High School, a private boys' prep school in Kansas City, Missouri, from which he graduated in 1998."

he doesnt seem like a bad guy. if the republican party looked like ben sasse and mitt romney instead of ted cruz, trump and louie gohmert, this country would be a much better place
The "mainstream conservative" values of the Sasses and Romneys create the Trumps and Gohmerts. The former is just as bad as the latter.

I'm also not so sanguine on the idea that this is the end of Hawley. I think establishment Repubs are the ones who suffer the most from this insurrection. They're the ones caught between a rock and a hard place, getting flanked on both sides. I'm pretty sure MAGA freaks are now a sine qua non for any Republican national election victory, and I trust the establishment base to come back around on Hawley more than I do the MAGA base to turn out for Sasse. The current bi-partisan establishment condemnation of Hawley may, in fact, end up solidifying his MAGA bonafides, and 4 years is a long enough time for Hawley's transgressions to be forgotten by the establishment conservatives. This is especially true if the Democrats aren't able to actually make positive, meaningful change with the mandate they've been given. Trump gained 11 million votes from 2016 to 2020, the cancer is metastisizing.

you got 4 years for the election but you gotta start preparing pretty much by 22. the coupe attempted happened and also Trump ran behind a lot of Gop candidates on their ballots means you can’t count on any kind of Maga bounce . Maga cares first and foremost about Trump it’s not just the populist ideas . Don’t also forget about the fact that the dems control all the Branches he can’t stand out by being a bipartisan trump with his name tarnished he can just run as a obstructionist as pretty much every other maga candidate will

thats bullshyt :yeshrug: people have every right to be against abortion and taxes. this isnt some fascist version of sweden
You do realize most of these politicians don’t actually believe in that stuff or are okay with their colleagues pushing false info about abortions is part of the problem.

Instead of them pushing anti-lgbtq laws when they are going to fire island themselves is the problem. Just false propaganda to rile up voters for votes and demonize others.

That’s not what I said. I said pushing false info. If people believe as you do then why the need to lie about what you are legislating? Doctors aren’t killing babies after they are born.

McCain pushed back on that bitherism once and got booed cause the rest of his party was willing to let it spread to rile up the Trumpers who attacked the Capitol.

No. The post you originally replied to was making this point.

The bad actor (Gohmert) rely on the Romney (mainstream)types to not say anything while they spread nonsense on Fox News and Alex Jones.

None of this is irrelevant.

@the cac mamba Do you still feel that Hawley is a winning ticket in 2024? I don't... I never did but even more so now because I feel his ceiling has diminished over all of this. I think he'd still have enough support to possibly win a crowded primary but then he'd get washed in a general.
fukk no :russ: he torpedoed himself with this

and i hope he does win the primary, because kamala will beat his ass now. hes a fukkin traitor and forever linked to this treason
