there are very few players in the league that can sustain pt production for that long. that's why nobody cares about juwan howard's total points, he doesnt have the expectations lebron/kd/kobe have.

the truth is, that was said with kobe too. when he had nobodies as teammates(kwame, cook, luke walton, smush parker).
IF YOUR TEAM sucks and you are a mega scorer. people will give you the ball and get the hell out of your way. it isnt like someone else could or would score on any consistent basis.
the other reason you rarely heard this with kobe under pjax is for 2 reasons.
reason #1 . shaq was kobe's teammates. mj never had to pass it to a monster int he paint that could score at a better efficiency rating them himself. So again. give the ball to mike and get out of the way.
reason #2 . kobe in the triangle was not setup to be jordan. he was setup to be jordan and pippen with the lakers. since the lakers never had a good enough facilitator(legit pg with passing skills or point forward like pippen). kobe has always had to wear 2 hats at once. be jordan and get the team involved and into the offense.
you never heard "jordan needs to get his teammates involved." once pippen came to town and grew up to take on the point forward duties. jordan's job immediately became SCORE and SCORE some more. only pass it if they completely jump you.
