isnt cormier like 5'11, we've seen this story many times with jones

knee kick knee kick hands in the face knee kick

spinning elbow

:russ:

even during that press conference brawl the difference in height was

:dwillhuh:

You obvious never seen Cormier fight, this ain't rashad evans, who will never be a champ again because he's era is over for the caliber of fighter he is

Cormier's fought bigger and strong guys than jones and beat them easily

Jones couldn't take Gus down who has terrible wrestling, and just learned how to defend take downs from phil davis

so people get styles mixed up to atch like it matters

all wrestlers aren't created equal, it comes down to the individual

this will be jones greatest test he will probably ever have as a professional fighter while he's in his prime

if he wins this fight I will say he is the greatest of all time

It'll give Comier a huge advantage in regards to having a "lower center of gravity"...
but something tells me Jones has been through this before.. and that having a "lower center of gravity" just
will
not
be
enough. :wow:

ive seen cormier fight, usually hes the quicker and more mobile guy

this fight is gonna be different for him as well, hes fighting a guy whose longer, quicker, and more athletic then he is. he never faced that at heavyweight. i mean its gonna be a great fight but dont act like just because he beat up a bunch of slow stiffs at heavyweight suddenly that means he can beat jones

cormier wont be as strong at 205 and thats the reality of the situation

can cormier get inside? thats the real question

Why wouldn't he stronger at 205, its the ideal weight for him, giving his stature

and Jones has never faced anyway with heavyweight strength, nobody even close, none of the guys he fought could contend at heavyweight

like I said this is Jones ultimate test, we gonna see how could he is, if Gus was a better fighter he would've beat jones, but one he is mentally weak, two he doesn't have all the tools

cormier is the most skilled and mental the toughest opponent he will face in his career

this fight will be legendary

Gus has excellent TDD and an effective arsenal of his own takedowns/trips. Saying 'Gus has terrible wrestling' is completely false. Gus was able to completely neutralize the wrestling of Jones, who is one of the most talented wrestlers in MMA.

I said Cormier would likely beat Machida. But, I also said that Machida has the tools to pull off the upset. My exact quote:

I would favor Cormier, but to say 'Machida can't beat Cormier anyway possible, he would get finished' is downright stupid.

Machida is deceptively strong, has excellent takedown defence, is much faster and is a better striker than DC. He has the tools/abilities to beat Cormier.

My knowledge of MMA? Your knowledge is bottom of the barrel.

:whoa: I don't see him trying that spinning elbow shyt with Cormier, that would be way too high risk against a wrestler like him, he could fukk around, whiff, and be in range to get yoked up, slammed, and raped on the ground. As far as locking up, yeah Jones is strong as hell, but I don't think he's as strong as Cormier, and as I mentioned earlier, that lower center of gravity would really put things in his favor. Jones would get outworked in grappling IMO, not to mention he could most likely get put down on some Igor Vovchanchyn type shyt if he gets in too close, Cormier has some heavy fukking hands :whew: Jones will take the W as long as he keeps dude at a distance and picks him apart on the outside. If Daniel gets in clinch range or boxes Jones in and presses him against the cage however.....:dead:

I train with pro fighters but my knowledge is bottom barrel lol

The only fight Gus showed TDD is against Jones, where was it against Phil Davis lol, and why did you think he trained with Phil Davis, becuase he sucked, its the weakest aspect of his game

and it says more about Jones than it does Gus

Cormier would destroy with Machida without trouble at all, wouldn't even be competitive

Although if Cormier does take Jones down, I'm interested in how he'll do off his back (assuming he keeps him down). Cormier did make some mistakes on the ground against Hendo.

I'm also interested in seeing how Jones would react if Cormier bullrushed Jones.
