JM career at least in big movies hangs on whether Disney/Marvel keeps him on. If that happens he will be able to at least garner a slow comeback. They pull the plug and it's a signal to every other studio that his damaged goods.
Disney /Marvel has at least in the public sphere not made any decision. They've invested a lot into him. This case is nasty though as even if he gets back, certain brands will not touch him.
