Just saw it and it's a huge improvement on the second one although it still overstays its welcome in some of the endless expository world building. It wouldn't be so bad if it moved the narrative forward like the first one but too much of the dialog feels like those text collectibles in videogames that delve into the world's lore but nobody actually reads because it doesn't impact the story whatsoever.

Anyway, put that complaint aside and the good shyt is that the film is much more inventive in its action sequences, boasting Wick at his most wicked leaving a trail of dead foreigners that would make Rambo proud as they reach a level of action brutality not seen since The Raid 2.

Meanwhile they set up what can only lead to a Halle Berry led spin-off while Laurence Fishburne chews more scenery and Mark Dacascos makes you wonder why Hollywood seems so intent on refusing to work with natural screen presence action stars.

It's a loaded picture, not always quick to move forward, but when it pops, it explodes like the series has never done before.
