There’s still a market for physical media, but it’s not like it used to. Now streaming is in. There needs to be a demand for royalties off how much a movie is streamed. I think there was talk about that in some of the recent contract negotiations, but I don’t know if they added that to the paperwork, or if the royalties are fair.Matt Damon broke it down best... never thought of this.
He said Hollywood really relying on sure box office hits now because that second release to DVD no longer exists. The DVD release would usually sweeten the pot on most movies.
