A bunch of people who have watched less than 5 Wizards games in their entire lives saying that he's wrong
But it's common sense. If a franchise hasn't won, went or even SNIFFED the Finals in almost 50 years then how can anybody in those 50 years say they are better?

The Wizards don't have the history like the Lakers, Celtics etc. They isn't going to be much arguing over the top ten Wizards of all time.

Wall didn’t say he was the best player in franchise history. You notice in college he worse 11 and came into the nba and wore 2. It’s because that was Elvin Hayes number and it’s retired. Wall never said he was better than those guys. He just said since they became the Wizards, he is the best player to put on the Wizards shirt. It’s either him or Beal, but I’d choose Wall and that’s not a crazy statement.

The post said Gil’s Wizards advanced further than Wall’s did. Gil’s Wizards teams only made the second round once and was swept out by the Heat.

You reacted with an emotional response instead of reading and contemplating what you were responding too. :dead:

Wall did not clarify what you said.

He said he was the best player to put on a Wizard Jersey. When you say Wizards you are referring to the same franchise that existed 50 years ago.

If someone were to say Larry Johnson or Alonzo Mourning were the best players to ever play for the Pelicans they are not wrong.

He didn’t have too. He said Wizard. I knew what he meant because I am a Wizards fan. It’s everyone else who missed it.

You said Wall didn’t clarify what he meant, but then you quote a clarifying statement. :dead:

Earl Monroe, Gus Johnson, Wes Unseld nor Elvin Hayes never wore a Wizards jersey.

If someone were to say Larry Johnson or Alonzo Mourning were the best players to ever play for the Pelicans they are not wrong.
They would be because neither ever wore a Pelicans jersey.

If someone said Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning are the best players in the 35 year history of the Hornets/Pelicans franchise, that would be right.

I've seen quite a few Wizards games when bum ass Wittman was coaching them. That team never looked like championship contenders.

They kept talking how Wizards needed a 3rd option, but Ted Leonsis was cheap as hell and Grunfeld was one of the worst GM's in the league. They thought Ariza would be a good 3rd option, lol, these guys were never serious about contending.

Wall was very gifted player, one of the fastest point guards ever. But his scoring wasn't that good. No 3pt threat and his below 40% FG proved that he can't carry a franchise.

If he wants to call himself the greatest Wizard, then whatever, but it's not much when they haven't seen a conference finals as the Wizards.

OK so if everyone understands that the franchise has been garbage and poorly run since Jimmy Carter was president, why is it so hard to give John Wall credit for leading them to the best seasons they've had in that time? Literally mad becuz his career is not considered a failure lol...

Knicks fans are allowed to celebrate Melo. Blake Griffin played 2 playoff games for the Pistons and people are still talking about what a magical year it was :camby:

It's the same fukking franchise lol bullets or wizards. The wizards never made a conference finals lol ain't nobody hanging jerseys in the rafters for 2nd round appearances. Unless that guy is maybe Vince Carter who had a huge following base in Toronto. Wall never had a following base close to that, so his little 2nd round achievements don't mean much.
