not only that, but Sid Rosenberg was supposed to be next up for WFAN - and lead them into the future once Mike and the Maddog Was going to retire
him and Joe Boingo had a hit show in the afternoons and he had his own special show with the New York Giants on Sunday game day and the big news that happened was he didn’t show up Sunday morning and was found like the next day drugged/coke out and some dingy dusty cheap ass motel in Jersey
And this is why I laugh when certain people deny white privilege because a decade after that event happened he was still able to get back on New York radio with Bernard McGirt on one of the biggest New York stations WABC - another piece of shyt conservative station
I used to post on the old NY Mets message board in the early 2000s, and I remember someone who used to post there saying that Sid used to show up to the WFAN building always smelling like booze, would constantly show up late, and would somehow make it through the show. It's now surprise he crashed out while on the air.
I just looked it up and I remember, he had dome some appearance for FHM magazine the previous day, went on some coke & alcohol binge and didn't show up for Giants pre-game the next day.
I'm dying laughing at the mention of [random white name] from random towns in
- Long Island
- Jersey shore
- Central/North Jersey
- Rockland county
- Westchester county
- Fairfield county CT
When I was a kid and I used to listen to WFAN I never heard of any of these places. They never had a "Joey from the Bronx" or "Miguel from Brooklyn" it was always some town I never heard of.
We got Pat from Rivahead Loing Eyeland on da fan....ga'head...
Link to the crash out?
This is going back to the early 2000s and I don't think the audio is out there, he went on the air claiming to be using a free cable box and gave details on how he was doing it, the Feds showed up to his house the next day. He has a history of crashing out, he doesn't last longer than 1-2 years at any radio job before he loses it, the guy is a real piece of sh*t. He called the Williams sisters "animals."
