it was a no brainer because peyton was nearly the only way to get rid of tebow quietly.

didnt hurt broncos had ton of cap room so they could throw heaps of money at peyton..

Let the 49ers tell it they never wanted Manning. Not sure how true that is though.
Im pretty sure we were never as aggressive with peyton

I think its obvious harbs knew that alex wasnt an answer, but he had his guy in the wings (kaep) and combination of having no cap room, having to relinquish offense/leadership to peyton and the injury risk factor...

basically we were lukewarm on peyton and hed prolly come only if he himself really wanted to be in sf...which I dont think he was crazy about, NFC is tough and he wanted full control of offense, as well as money.

It still took Elway to sway Peyton into coming to Denver. Had he not have done that, I'm certain he would have addressed the QB issue in the draft since he said immediately after the end of last season that the QB position was still an open position in spite of Tebow's "success."

Why are you drawing it up like that?

He swayed Manning to come to Denver instead of your team.

You`re trolling, and it doesn't work because I didn't want Manning in the first place.

The 49ers never had a realistic shot at Manning, we could have only offered him like 12 mil. Also we knew Jughead wasn't going to play his Brother.

His sway job is over-rated too. His other options were Miami, Tennessee or Seattle, lets get real here. It was an easy sell with them being a playoff team

The whole idea that Peyton/SF was a seriously possibility is fukking goofy.

he shouldnt win it over Elway or some of the other candidates, but Mike Shanahan should get some props for having the balls to trade for RG3 and then drafting Alfred Morris in the 6th.

He wont be considered because the NFL's corruption with the salary cap rules but signing Garcon was major.

Josh Morgan was a good pickup too

WAs that why you were on the old board cheerleading for the 49ers to get him?

You downplaying the work as an executive it takes to get a player to play for a team is you simply wanting to win an argument on the internet at all costs.

Look at how it took someone else in here to tell you the same thing I was saying about awarding an exec for planting the seeds years prior for you to agree.

You argue with me for the sake of doing so.

How well has Denver's draft contributed to their success this year?

They got Derek Wolfe, Danny Trevathan, and Rahim moore who have all been solid starters/rotational guys on one of the best defense in the NFL. Also they got Ronnie Hillman in the 4th who has contributed a decent 3rd down option/change of pace guy.

Not as impactful as say Bruce Irvin and Bobby Wagner but it's worth noting
