They traded Noel because he wasn't coming back next year. It was a bad trade but it's not like they traded Shaq in his prime

Sixers are currently 5th in draft order. The top 3 teams in terms of picks are way ahead of everyone else and stealth tanking

So Colangelo shut down Embiid and traded Noel just to go from the 5th pick to the 4th pick? Lol
Noel was going to be a RFA.

Force a team to pay more and possibly do a sign + trade on top of that. A stupid team like the knicks would have bit.

That wouldn't work. The thought of keeping him woulda been too much for Philly
Too much for Philly?

What exactly do they have? Embiid is likely never going to be a full time NBA player and even if he doeshe works with Noel better than Okafor does.

I refuse to believe that were was no interest for Okafor. Unless they feel like they can build around him over Noel if you factor Embiid as out?

I doubt he's injured :patrice:

He was just working out with his trainer at ASW. Philly is just tanking. My guess is they end up holding him along with simmons out for the year.

That's a different argument. You're basically saying they shoulda kept him at all costs. Philly didn't feel the same way.

It could be two sides to the story..

I can see featuring Okafor the second half of the season to build that value for a trade at the draft

Or Embiid is really cooked...and they are shook that he might not be able to play.

Its hard for me to see his agent signing off on sitting him unless he was really at risk of more injuries.

Man, you really high on Richaun Holmes like that? I do like his game, but he's definitely way too small to be a centre

He already shown flashes of being better

Physical
Better rebounder
Has a better jumper sometime three point shot
Better scorer
Just as good defensively he had 5 blocks against the wizards

They were saying he may back up Saric if Embiid wasn't hurt

Hopefully he's ok and their tanking but I'm not sure that's what's happening.

If they are im all for tanking but how many years in a row are you blatantly gonna sit guys out just to get a little higher pick? Phillys been going a little overboard with that shyt the past few years imo and I'm someone who's at the top of defending tanks but it gets to a gross point.

They also must have the most laid back owner then. Most owners won't let you tank one year. Sixers been doing it for almost 5 now
