Denver Broncos linebacker Joe Mays will be suspended for one game and fined $50,000 by the NFL for his hit on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub over the weekend.

Mays is appealing the suspension, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

that was a clean hit. the nfl is a walking case of hypocrisy. 1 moment they are sayingthat they are about player safety, but they still have replacemet refs on the field that cant call the right calls and potentially comprimise safety. Fining players and or suspending players is not, i repeat NOT going to stop hard hits from happening. This is football, not Tennis. The NFL game is too damn fast and players are too big to simply pull up and adjust how and where they will hit people.
