Joe Lacob admits that Warriors spending is not sitting well across the NBA

Will more teams follow the Warriors spending?

Yea, Ballmer owning 334 milly Microsoft stock at $264 a pop. That’s $88 billion right there… there was that meme saying Balmer would lose more money with a 2% drop in MS shares than Lacob’s entire net worth (1.5b).

In other words if LAC ever finds a core that wins him a ‘ship, there’s no telling the spending fukkery Balmer would be down for to keep the ‘ships ‘shippin.

Birdman Balmer! :blessed:

Sounds like he is saying the NBA has a secret hard cap.

Reminds me when the NFL fined the skins and cowboys for cap violations when the cap didn’t exist that year. Turns out they had a secret cap and the boys and skins violated that.

My Pops Forever RIP
the warriors don't even have the highest payroll in the league. that honor belongs to the clippers. and steve ballmer is probably the richest NBA owner of them all, so he probably don't give a fukk
and when he gets his arena built, that money will all come back.

Spending a repeater tax is fine... if you're a legit contender. The problem NBA owners have is that teams who probably aren't title contenders are expected to spend the same way. The Warriors can legit win a title any of these seasons. Same with a team like the Bucks. A team like the Hornets on the other hand, not so much, yet if they don't splurge, then it looks like they're wasting LaMelo Ball's time.

This.

If you look at the Warriors roster, that team was mostly built with rejects (Wiggins), vet min journeymen trying to prove they could get a bag (GP2), and drafted players (Steph, Klay, Dray, Loon, Poole).

Of course, the league won't do anything about that bullshyt tax because they don't want dynasties and the other owners are at least trying to pretend they'll compete one day.

Silver already went on record about the situation talking about how it's not just sharing revenue, there's also supposed to be some "player sharing" or some nonsense like that, so he's going to keep the pressure on to force the Warriors to break it up.

And that explains this:
Lol this is false

isn’t the luxury tax distributed among the other teams? Lacob is a known bullshytter because I’m sure broke owners like the lakers kings wiz kings tc love getting those checks.

You know those rich old a$$holes don't like looking bad. They like the money in their pocket, but he's setting a precedent for owners. They can't complain about luxury taxes in the next CBA if they're paying it willingly AND making money (which they are) PLUS they owe their own stadium which ain't a good look for stealing public money.

Aha. So Steph's first ring was because of injuries, second and third was because of KD and the fourth was just a bought ring.

When's this bus rider gonna win a fair one? :stopitslime:
^^^You see how they never use that excuse for the Raptors when they beat the Dubs. KD had the Achilles injury and then Klay went down. I'm not even a Dubs fan but the double standard is BS

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Warriors are being penalized for drafting well… NBA need to rework that repeater tax if teams draft a player who stays with the team then his contract extensions shouldn’t count against the repeater tax.. it’s like the warriors are gonna be forced to give up Poole Kuminga, Weisman and moody at some point because they won’t be able to keep all of them and that’s beyond bullshyt..

Even if you did that, there would still be teams that can’t spend that much. OKC is a prime example. They don’t generate enough revenue in that market.

The Warriors have a good mix of market, ownership, management, coaching and luck. Most teams don’t.
